Day 3 - BILTMORE ESTATE
Your day begins with breakfast in the Inn Dining Room. Enjoy a self-guided tour of the Biltmore Mansion with your audio as you cross into a world of beauty that has remained virtually unchanged for more than a century. You will view priceless works of art and original furnishings as you walk through America’s largest home at your own pace. Adjacent to the mansion in the courtyard area, a bakery and ice cream parlor offer soup and sandwiches for you to purchase for lunch on our own. Then a visit and tour Antler Hill Village, The Barn and Winery. In 1971, George Vanderbilt’s grandson, William Cecil, experimented with wine making. From a harvest of French-American hybrid grapes planted within sight of Biltmore House, the inaugural vintage was bottled in the estate conservatory. The Barn in Antler Hill Village is alive again with blacksmiths, woodworkers and other craft demonstrations. The Barn Door features a unique selection of American arts and crafts items. Dinner tonight will be the Christmas Buffet at Deerpark on the estate property. After dinner enjoy a “Candlelight Christmas Evening” at Biltmore Mansion, with live music, candlelight, fire light and elegant décor within the mansion. Meals:B,D
