This lovely part of the world lies along the Adriatic Sea and is home to ancient cities, medieval architecture, rolling hills, stunning scenery and a warm climate. Perhaps you remember it as Yugoslavia.  Fly from Philadelphia and begin your touring in Opatija, Croatia with a welcome dinner with your travel companions. Opatija, known as “Croatia’s Riviera” was once the summer retreat for Roman Monarchs. Spend the day exploring on your own. Continue to Croatia’s National Park, Plitvice Lakes, a UNESCO World Heritage site. Travel among its 16 terraced lakes where a series of waterfalls connect each lake to the other. A short cruise takes you into the heart of this natural wonder. Continue along the Adriatic to Dubrovnik where a local guide will join you to visit the Franciscan Monastery and other historical sites. While in lovely Dubrovnik for three nights, you have a choice of inclusions including a Elaphitl Islands cruise, or the Montenegro excursion to the Bay of Kotor, Europe’s most southern fjord. From Dubrovnik travel the coastal road with stunning views to Split, where you set out on a walking tour featuring the impressive Diocletian’s Palace, a significant late Roman monument. In Ljubljana, Slovenia, ride a funicular to the castle, take a “plenta” boat to the island of Bled and the tour comes to a close in Zagreb at a dinner in one of her most famous restaurants. Air included in this Collette Tour.
Departs Independence, Newark and Wilmington.
