Long Island is one of the East Coast’s most alluring destinations with its fine gardens, mansions, restaurants and beaches. And we bring some of it all to you in our four day adventure. Three nights at the 4-star Indigo Hotel, most meals and an excellent guide who will accompany us throughout the tour. Early reservations are recommended!

Day 1 - INDEPENDENCE/NEWARK/WILMINGTON/ LONG ISLAND
Morning departure takes us out to the island in time for lunch before visiting Old Westbury Gardens, one of the most English-style gardens in North America. Listed on the National Register of Historic Places, Old Westbury Gardens is the former home of John S. Phipps and his family. Completed in 1906 by the English designer, George A. Crawley, the magnificent Charles II-style mansion is nestled amid 200 acres of formal gardens, landscaped grounds, ponds and lakes. The house is furnished with the fine English antiques and decorative art from the more than fifty years of the family's residence. Day 2 - SOUTHAMPTON/MONTAUK/SAG HARBOR
Our guide will join us this morning for an informative tour of the pristine village of Southampton. Sights include historical homes, museums, Main Street and mansion, some of the most elaborate homes in America owned by some of the world’s wealthiest people. Many of the homes line the shores of South Fork overlooking the Atlantic Ocean. Next stop is the Montauk Point Lighthouse, authorized by the Second Congress, under President George Washington. Then a stop at Gosman’s Dock, a combination of a working fishing port, shops and restaurants. Free time to shop and enjoy an independent lunch in one of the many restaurants in this waterfront center. Sag Harbor was one of the main points of entry into the U S. and it has a fascinating history. You’ll see the town’s centuries-old streets lined with ancient trees, inviting homes, antique shops and boutiques. Your tour will include the Sag Harbor Whaling Museum and Old Whaler’s Church. Two short ferry rides take us to the seaside village of Freeport and dinner at the Touch of Venice Restaurant on Long Island’s North Fork. Return to your hotel. Meals:B,D

Day 3 - OHEKA, COE HALL, COLD SPRING HARBOR
We’re off to the magnificent Gold Coast Mansion, Oheka. It rests on the highest point of Long Island and emanates the elegant refinement of a chateau in France along with world-class service and a rich history that is distinctly American. Otto Hermann Kahn commissioned architects Delano and Aldrich to design is palatial country residence to accommodate Kahn’s fondness to host lavish parties. Then on to Coe Hall, a Tudor Revival mansion painstakingly cared for over the years which still retains its Roaring 20s stateliness. The rooms are decorated with priceless antiques, handcrafted wood and stone details, and original artwork. Lunch on your own in Cold Spring Harbor, a lovely little town on the water’s edge. Return to our Hotel t relax before dinner at the Jerry and the Mermaid Restaurant. Meals:B,D

Day 4 - BAITING HOLLOW FARM VINEYARD/HOME
Check-out after breakfast before an unusual presentation of wine, food and horses! During the 1980’s, Sam Rubin, founder, ventured into eastern Long Island and acquired what has since become the Baiting Hollow Farm Vineyard. He used only organic compost and other natural ingredients as he tilled soil, planted French vines and developed his winery. You’ll have the opportunity to wine taste along with our buffet lunch and then visit the horses that have been rescued and given a second chance. Departure after our visit for home, arriving in the late afternoon /early evening. Meals:B,L
