Day 2 - LONDON/BATH      
Arrive London, and after custom formalities, we will be met and drive westward to Highclere Castle, the real-life inspiration and setting for the PBS show, Downton Abbey, now the home of the current Earl of Carnarvon and his wife, Lady Fiona. Continue to the lovely city of Bath, your home for two nights.  Meals:B in flight, D

Our travels takes us through the Cotswolds, a beautiful range of hills stretching over 50 miles with lovely villages of cottages and gardens with a stop for lunch at the Lygon Arms. Continue to Blenheim Palace, near the town of Woodstock and  home of the Dukes of Marlborough. This huge country house is where Winston Churchill was born and this masterpiece of Baroque architecture is a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Dinner at our hotel in Stratford-upon-Avon this evening.   Meals:B,L

Day 11 - LONDON SIGHTSEEING  
A full day of guided touring in this exciting city includes viewing the Houses of Parliament, Big Ben, Buckingham Palace, St. Paul’s Cathedral and the Changing of the Guard. You’ll visit Westminster Abbey, the Tower of London and the Crown Jewels. Remainder of the day at leisure.   Meals:B

Day 8 - WINDERMERE/GRASMERE/WINDERMERE   
A short drive takes us into Grasmere, to visit Dove Cottage, home of Lakeland poet William Wordsworth from 1799 to 1808, and one of the most creative periods of his life. The nearby Wordsworth Museum houses manuscripts and memorabilia connected with the poet. Free time to enjoy this small village before returning to Windermere.   Meals:B,D

Day 7 - PORTMEIRION/CHESTER    
Our journey takes us to the medieval city of Chester with its picturesque timber-framed shops, arcades and houses known as the Chester Rows. Your guided tour includes a visit to the Chester Cathedral before departing for the Lake District with dinner at your hotel, your home for two nights.   Meals:B,D

Day 3 - SIGHTSEE BATH    
A local guide will join us for our tour of this lovely city, architecturally one of England’s finest. You’ll see many native limestone 18th century terraced houses in the Royal Crescent, Bath Abbey where the first king of England was crowned, the Roman Baths and with lunch at the Pump Room Restaurant, in the Roman Bath complex. Afternoon at leisure to spend the day exploring on your own.   Meals:B,L

Day 6 - LOCAL SIGHTSEEING   
Your morning will be filled with the beauties of Bodnant Garden, famous for its several gardens and its Laburnum arch, the longest in the U.K., and it flowers in May and June. Lunch at the Pavilion Tearoom. Later board the Ffestiniog narrow gauge railway to Porthmadog as it winds its way through fantastic Welch scenery, small towns and villages. Return to our hotel to enjoy dinner once again.   Meals:B,L,D

Day 10 - YORK/CHATSWORTH/LONDON   
We have included Chatsworth, home to the Duke and Duchess of Devonshire, which has been passed down through 16 generations of the Cavendish Family. Inside and outside, it is truly breathtaking, and is renowned for its quality of art, landscape and hospitality and through the centuries has reflected the taste, passions and interest of succeeding generations. Time to explore on your own before we depart for London, your home for three nights.   Meals:B

Day 12 - FREE DAY IN LONDON   
A day to explore and shop on your own. Try the British Museum or the Victoria and Albert Museum and perhaps have afternoon tea at Fortnum and Masons!   Meals:B

Day 13 - AIRPORT TRANSFER/HOME   
Morning transfer to Heathrow Airport for your return flight to Philadelphia where transportation will be waiting to return you to Wilmington.   Meals:CB, meals in flight

Day 9 - WINDERMERE/YORK   
We travel to the walled city of York this morning, the most historic city in the north of England and home to York Minster, the largest medieval cathedral in Europe. Our guided tour includes the Minster, a city tour, a walk along the Shambles, and an afternoon free for independent sightseeing or shopping.    Meals:B,D

Day 4 - COTSWOLDS/BLENHEIM PALACE/STRATFORD-ON-AVON  

Day 5 -  STRATFORD/PORTMEIRION, WALES   
A delightful tour of Anne Hathaway’s cottage this morning in the nearby village of Shottery and then into Stratford to visit the birthplace of William Shakespeare where exhibits tell you the story of his literary career. Travel to into scenic Wales and the unique village of Portmeirion, playful creation of architect Sir Clough Williams-Ellis in the style of an Italian village, overlooking the beautiful Dywryd Estuary. It is a most delightful place. Dinner tonight at your hotel, your home for two nights.   Meals:B,L
